CarCare Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 August 2026

CarCare (“the app”) is a vehicle maintenance tracker. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what control you have. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

Who we are

CarCare is operated by Shaik Sadiq. Questions, requests, or complaints: carcarepolicy@gmail.com.

The short version

What the app collects

If you use offline mode: nothing is transmitted to us. Everything you enter stays in the app’s storage on your device.

If you create an account, we store:

What the app does not collect: precise location, contacts, browsing history, or information from other apps on your device. We do not run analytics on how you use the app.

Why we collect it

To provide the app’s features: storing your records, calculating fuel economy and service reminders, and syncing your data between your own devices — and, if an ad-supported tier is introduced, to fund development.

Your vehicle data is never used for advertising. Your service history, fuel logs, documents, tickets, odometer readings, and costs are never shared with advertisers or any third party. Ads are served by Google based only on the device signals described above. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, and we do not use it to train machine learning models.

Advertising and your choices

CarCare currently shows no advertising. This section describes what would apply if an ad-supported free tier is introduced later; it does not describe the app as it ships today.

Any future ads would be served by Google AdMob, which acts as an independent controller of the data it collects; its practices are described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Camera and photo library access

The app asks for camera and photo library permission only when you tap a button to add a photo. Photos are used exclusively as attachments to your own records. You can decline these permissions and continue using every other feature.

Document photos stay on your device

CarCare deliberately does not upload photographs of identity or ownership documents. Only their details — such as document type and expiry date — sync to your account, so renewal reminders work across your devices. If you sign in on a second device, those entries appear without their images, and the app tells you the photo remains on the original device.

This means: if you delete the app or lose the device without another copy of the photo, that image is gone. Keep your original documents.

Where your data is stored

Account data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage), operated by Google LLC, which acts as our data processor. Data may be stored on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Google’s handling of this data is governed by the Firebase privacy documentation at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Access is restricted by security rules so that each account can read and write only its own records. No other user can access your data.

How long we keep it

Your data is kept until you delete it. Deleting your account removes your records and uploaded photos from our systems. Backups and logs held by our infrastructure provider may persist for a short period afterward as part of normal operation.

Your choices and rights

Inside the app, under Settings, you can:

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under laws such as PIPEDA (Canada), the GDPR (Europe/UK), or the CCPA (California) to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Because the app already gives you direct access and deletion, most requests can be completed by you instantly. For anything else, email carcarepolicy@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

CarCare is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS, and stored data is encrypted at rest by our infrastructure provider. Access is limited by per-user security rules. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
